Intro
The 12th National Congress of the Chinese Medical Association was held in Shanghai from April 1 to 8, 1937. During this congress, the Chinese Dermatological Society was established as a specialized society under the Chinese Medical Association, later renamed as the Chinese Society of Dermatology and Venereology. In 2000, with the approval of the Executive Council of the Chinese Medical Association, the Dermatology Society was renamed the Society of Dermatology and Venereology.
Under the leadership of the Chinese Medical Association, the Chinese Society of Dermatology and Venereology has matured into a prestigious specialized society. Historical contributions to the field of dermatology and venereology were made by pioneers such as Hu Chuankui, Yu Guangyuan, Yang Guoliang, and other senior experts. Since the era of reform and opening up, under the successive leadership of professors Li Hongjiong, Wang Guangchao, Chen Xitang, and Chen Hongduo, the Chinese Society of Dermatology and Venereology has promoted academic research and exchanges in dermatology and venereology nationwide. In certain aspects, it has reached or approached the international advanced level and is gradually moving towards global recognition.
At present, a group of young and middle-aged backbone talents is growing rapidly, poised to become experts and leaders in the field. It is anticipated that by the early next century, the Chinese Society of Dermatology and Venereology will stand as one of the world's leading academic organizations in this specialized field.
Conference Overview
The theme of this year's conference is "Preserving Tradition, Innovating for the Future." Building upon the foundation of past classic academic content, the conference will optimize its academic sections to comprehensively reflect the standardized diagnosis and treatment, cutting-edge developments, and future trends in dermatology. Renowned experts from China and abroad will be invited to deliver lectures, courses, and practical demonstrations to meet the needs of clinicians and researchers at all levels. To further leverage the active and innovative thinking of young scholars, the conference will strongly support newcomers, providing a high-quality platform for the development of young researchers.
While maintaining the traditional sections organized by various study groups and disease centers, this year's conference will strengthen sections such as Chinese originals, clinical diagnostics, key diseases, key drugs, new technologies and therapies, and cutting-edge developments. New sections have been added, including regional diseases, grassroots voices, interdisciplinary studies, and overseas perspectives, aiming to truly implement the theme of "Preserving Tradition, Innovating for the Future."
