Introduction
The Chinese Medical Association (CMA) was established in January 2002. It is a nationally recognized, industry-specific, non-profit organization with independent legal status. Comprising practicing physicians and assistant physicians voluntarily, the CMA represents a significant milestone in the transformation of China's physician management, shifting from a single health administrative management model to a collaborative model of health administrative management and industry self-discipline.
The establishment of the Chinese Medical Association responds to the new situation of China's entry into the WTO and the deepening reform of the medical and health industry. This signals a gradual transition from the current singular health administrative management model to a collaborative model of health administrative management and industry self-discipline. In the future, the Medical Association will play an increasingly significant role in industry management, propelling China's physician management towards an internationalized model.
